Baryonyx was a theropod dinosaur in the same family as the Spinosaurus. Its long low snout and narrow jaw, which resembles a crocodile’s, was ideal for catching fish, but too weak to take on larger prey. Baryonyx weighed approximately 1 to 2 tons and measured between 25 and 33 feet long. It had large arms and a heavy claw on its first finger which it used to attack and tear apart its prey.
Did you know Baryonyx means “Heavy Claw”?
